Dear North Godwin Families,

Another school year will soon be up and running and before we know it, we will be dealing with cold and snow!!  I hope you all found time to rest and relax over the summer months and are as excited for the start of another school year as I am!

If you’ve driven by school you’ve noticed that we have had a lot of construction going on.  We are so pleased and excited to see the final product!  Work is being done at a feverish pace to get things all ready for the start of school.  Unfortunately, due to the construction, we did have to postpone our annual Meet the Teacher night.  Instead, we will have our first family night in September when we can be sure the building will be ready and safe for everyone.

Start the new year off right by having your child at school every single day unless they are truly sick and also make sure they are on time!  School starts promptly at 8:30 and anyone coming in late will be marked tardy.  You are developing very important habits with your children during these early years and it is so important that they be present and on time daily.  North Godwin is a Community School, which means that we have a lot of people here to help you with whatever barriers may be keeping you from getting your child to school every day on time.  If there is anything that we can assist you with, please contact me and we can work together to solve any issues.

Our T.E.A.M. 21 after school program will be starting on Monday, September 12th and will run from 3:30 p.m.-6:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday for qualifying students.  Please contact Mrs. Swet (formerly Ms. O’Neill) at 616-490-8363 to apply for a spot, as I know enrollment is filling up quickly.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please stop in the school office or give me a call at 252-2010.  I can also be reached by email at

Yours in Education,
